Its territory is part of the Tayrona National Natural Park, a small typical fishermen's territory, located just 5 kilometers from Santa Marta.

The trip is made very easy, because every ten minutes minibuses depart and return transporting passengers at very affordable prices; or if you prefer by taxi. It is important, because in addition to making the trip in the middle of a beautiful panorama (gulf surrounded by blue waters, bordered by mountains), one arrives at a typical town where the majority of the inhabitants dedicate themselves to the work of fishing, of which , by traditional and rudimentary methods, obtains his sustenance.

In the early hours of the morning, it is possible to get fresh fish. A beautiful boardwalk on the edge of the bay with typical restaurants, pizza stalls, small terraces and bars, set by the fishermen's boats, are part of the meeting of the town.

The majority of Santa Marta's diving centers are concentrated in this place, and in the vicinity there are some sites of outstanding importance to develop the activity and snorkeling, such as the Granate cove and Aguja Island.

From Taganga, by water, you can access some of the park's bays or interesting places for diving, fishing and snorkeling.
